Special thanks goes to our Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Tourism, Hon. Mary Masanja for her support and appreciation on the importance of this race especially in the new perspective of “ Sports Tourism ”. Hon. Masanja addressed that local tourism will do much better through combining sports with tourism. She insisted on more participation from other public organizations in tourism and conservation so as to use more of this concept of “Sports Tourism” in promoting domestic and international tourism while promoting conservation efforts to the local communities surrounding all protected areas by showing and giving them the benefits of these efforts. She committed to work closely with the Organizers in reducing and where possible to eliminate all current challenges which hinder fast growth of this unique event into appropriate international level
